Presented by: Dr. Elizabeth Spaar, D.O.
Dr. Spaar will discuss the condition PANDAS, (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections), which is more common in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. PANDAS is a disorder where infections trigger neuropsychiatric symptoms such as tics, OCD, anxiety, Anger and aggressiveness and restricted eating. It is frequently misdiagnosed, especially in those with ASD. Parents and those that work with individuals on the spectrum will learn to recognize the symptoms and how to seek evaluation and treatment.
